About this website
This website has been developed by Marco De Cesaris as a project/coursework for
the
Internet Technologies
module for the
MA
in Electronic Communication and Publishing
(2007/2008) at
UCL
.
It is a pure academic project.
The subject covered (
Content Analyzer
) is a topic that I really love, and I wish to thank
CGS NETWORK
for having developed the script to make this textual analysis possible.
As you can see
Content Analyzer
is mainly a javascript that
I
modified
slightly to adapt to
XHTML 1.0
-
STRICT
. I also
reduced the original functions to the basic ones (word count, listing by frequency and by alphabetical order).
For a full version of this wonderful script, please visit
CGS NETWORK analyst calculator.
Technical features
The mark-up language I used in order to realize this website is
XHTML 1.0
-
STRICT
.
In addition to this I used
Cascading Style Sheets
(CSS) to style the different webpages.
Some javascript
has been
used as
well for
font
size control,
to run CONTENT ANALYZER, and in order to provide functions
not
perfectly
supported
by older browsers (e.g. the pseudo-class ":hover" in
IE6
).
The main function of the javascripts
in this
case is
to keep the pages a bit dynamic and interactive.
Regarding images, I
mainly used images
that I created. Some of the images have been downloaded from different websites under proper licence.
For more information visit the section
CREDITS
.
In order to download the images and the scripts I created, go to the page
SITEMAP
. You can use
almost all of them for free, but please cite the source.
Restrictions apply to the javascript
for
CONTENT
ANALYZER
(please contact
CGS NETWORK
directly in order to adapt or use their script).
Thanks for visiting this website :)
